Description 

YO-PRO-1 Iodide also called Oxazole yellow, is a green-fluorescent, cell-impermeant nucleic acid stain that can be used as a early marker of apoptosis. It is essentially nonfluorescent in the absence of nucleic acids but exhibits fluorescent when bound to nucleic acids. YO-PRO-1 Iodide is also used to identify apoptotic cells. Early apoptotic cells become permeant to YO-PRO-1 Iodide, but remain impermeant to propidiumiodide (P4034), a dead cell stain. These two dyes are used in combination to distinguish early apoptotic and late apoptotic cells. Therefore, Y6077 YO-PRO-1 Iodide and PI Membrane Permeability Apoptosis Detection Kit, which is used to distinguish early apoptotic and late apoptotic cells.
